At the age of 10, I lost my best friend to childhood cancer—she was only 8.That summer, I spent every day by her side at Children’s Hospital, witnessing her bravery. Some of my most treasured memories with her are forever tied to those hospital walls. We would sneak into the break room to steal chocolate milk, go on adventures around the hospital, and simply lay together watching movies when she was too tired to do anything else. Despite the challenges, Children’s Hospital became a place of warmth, comfort, and care, where they looked after my best girl with endless compassion. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

In memory of Courtney, I’ve decided to start this fundraiser to honor her incredible spirit. She was a radiant light in a world that often feels dark. Through it all, her smile and optimism never wavered. Let’s come together to light the way for childhood cancer research.
